A third of New Year’s resolutions drop off after just one month. Here are three ways to make sure yours is a winner.
1. Work on one thing at a time
Breaking resolutions into single tasks and tackling them one at a time makes you more likely to succeed. For example, don’t try to quit smoking and start running on the same day.
2. Determine specific behaviors
It is easier to stick to a resolution if you tie the behavior to a specific place or time of day. For example, resolve to floss your teeth while your coffee brews.
3. Practice every day
The more you do it, the more you do it. Do something to work toward your resolution every day to keep it top of mind and stay motivated.
