Total Time - 25 minutes
Servings - 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 small yellow onion, finely minced
  • 2 lb ground chuck
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices thick American cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 Bakery hamburger buns, lightly toasted
  • 8 slices precooked bacon
  • 8 black olives
  • 1 jar red pimientos
  • 8 Chicago style peppers
  • 4 sandwich-slice pickles

Steps:

  1. Preheat grill. Mince onion (1/4 cup). Mix ground chuck, onion, and Worcestershire sauce just until combined. Divide into 8 portions and form into thin patties. Place 1 cheese slice each on 4 of the patties; top with remaining patties and pinch edges to form a tight seal (wash hands). Season patties with salt and pepper.
  2. Place burgers on grill; cook 3–4 minutes on each side and until 160°F. Remove burgers from grill and let stand 5 minutes to rest.
  3. Toast buns. Heat bacon following package instructions. Assemble burgers, with toppings if using; serve.

For the costume:

  1. Slice 1 whole pimiento into 8 pieces sized to fit into each olive.
  2. Place 1 olive and 1 pepper on a black cocktail skewer for each eye.
  3. Cut jagged edges on remaining 4 cheese slices, and arrange on burger to resemble teeth.
  4. Arrange the pickle so it hangs off the bun for the tongue.
