Oven-Fried Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  • Aluminum foil
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup biscuit baking mix
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 4 lb chicken wings (or drummettes)
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line 2 (1-inch-deep) baking sheets with foil. Put one-half butter on each pan and place in oven until butter is melted.
  2. Combine baking mix, paprika, and seasoned salt; dredge chicken in mixture, then place on pans in single layer ½ inch apart (wash hands). Bake 30–35 minutes, flipping once halfway through cook time, until chicken is crispy and 165°F. Serve.
Other Preparation Methods
    • Broil: Preheat broiler. Line large baking sheet with foil. Coat 4 lb chicken wings with 3 tablespoons each oil and creole seasoning; place tightly packed in pan. Place tray on middle rack; broil 7–8 minutes on each side until 165°F. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
    • Grill: Preheat grill on medium. Grill 4 lb chicken wings 11–13 minutes on each side until 165°F. Combine 1 cup barbecue sauce and ½ cup buffalo wing sauce; toss chicken with sauce. Serve.
