Ingredients
- Cooking spray
- 1 (15 oz) package refrigerated rolled piecrusts
- 1 orange, for zest/juice
- 2 medium apples
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves (or cinnamon)
- Whipped topping (optional for serving)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat 8 cups of regular muffin pan with spray. Unfold pie crusts; cut 4 (4-inch) circles out of each crust and press into prepared muffin pan cups.
- Zest orange (1 teaspoon), then juice (2 tablespoons). Peel and core apples, then chop finely.
- Combine apples, sugar, cornstarch, orange zest, orange juice, and cloves. Divide mixture among crust-filled cups. Bake 30–35 minutes until apples are soft and crust is golden. Let stand to cool slightly. Serve with whipped topping, if using.
Other Preparation Methods
- Waldorf Salad: Combine 2 cups chopped apples, 1 cup halved red seedless grapes, ½ cup chopped walnuts, ¼ cup chopped celery, 1 cup mayonnaise, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar until blended. Chill until cold and ready to serve.
