Apple Tartlets

Ingredients
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 (15 oz) package refrigerated rolled piecrusts
  • 1 orange, for zest/juice
  • 2 medium apples
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves (or cinnamon)
  • Whipped topping (optional for serving)
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat 8 cups of regular muffin pan with spray. Unfold pie crusts; cut 4 (4-inch) circles out of each crust and press into prepared muffin pan cups.
  2. Zest orange (1 teaspoon), then juice (2 tablespoons). Peel and core apples, then chop finely.
  3. Combine apples, sugar, cornstarch, orange zest, orange juice, and cloves. Divide mixture among crust-filled cups. Bake 30–35 minutes until apples are soft and crust is golden. Let stand to cool slightly. Serve with whipped topping, if using.
Other Preparation Methods
    • Waldorf Salad: Combine 2 cups chopped apples, 1 cup halved red seedless grapes, ½ cup chopped walnuts, ¼ cup chopped celery, 1 cup mayonnaise, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar until blended. Chill until cold and ready to serve.
