Vampire Sloppy Pizza Sliders
6 servings
20 minutes total

Ingredients

  • For sliders
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese (about 6 oz)
  • 1 (14 oz) jar pizza sauce (about 2 cups)
  • ½ cup mini pepperoni slices
  • 12 slider (or dinner) rolls
  • ¼ cup garlic spread, divided
  • For costumes
  • 24 pieces diced pimiento pepper
  • 24 mozzarella pearls
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • 24 toothpicks

Steps

    1. Prepare slicers. Preheat large, nonstick sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Add oil, garlic, beef, salt, and Italian seasoning; cook 5–6 minutes, stirring to crumble meat, until no pink remains and beef is 160°F. Drain well. Cut cheese into quarters diagonally.
    2. Reduce heat to low. Add pizza sauce and pepperoni pieces to pan; simmer 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens and flavors blend. Remove from heat.
    3. Slice open each bun; toast if desired. Spread 2 teaspoons garlic spread on bottom of each bun. Top buns evenly with beef mixture.
    4. Prepare costumes. Slide top bun slightly off back of each sandwich. Add 2 pieces cheese pointed ends down for vampire teeth. Skewer pimientos, mozzarella pearls, and olive slices on toothpicks; secure in front of each sandwich for vampire eyes.

Chef's Tip: Want extra flavor? Add garlic spread inside tops of buns and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
