Sweet Heat Wings

Ingredients

  • 3 lb chicken wings (or drummettes)
  • 1 (5 oz) bottle hot pepper sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • Nonstick aluminum foil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Steps

    1. Place wings in slow cooker (wash hands). Combine pepper sauce, honey, and paprika. Pour over chicken and stir to coat.
    2. Cover slow cooker and cook on HIGH 2–2 ½ hours until wings are pull-apart tender. Line baking sheet with foil.
    3. Preheat broiler on HIGH; place oven rack in middle position. Transfer wings to baking sheet; broil 5–6 minutes, flipping halfway through cook time, until wings are browned and 165°F.
    4. Whisk cornstarch and water until blended. Place in slow cooker; cover and cook 4–5 minutes until sauce has thickened. Transfer wings to platter and top with sauce; serve.
