Ingredients
- 8 thin slices bacon
- 8 beef hot dogs
- 16 toothpicks (optional)
- 8 hot dog buns
- 2 ripe Hass avocados
- 1 cup potato chips (optional)
- 1 cup refried beans
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup chunky salsa
Steps
- Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium. Wrap 1 slice bacon evenly around each hot dog, securing with toothpicks, if using (wash hands). Slice through tops of hot dog buns, leaving ends attached.
- Grill hot dogs 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until bacon is crisp and hot dogs are 165°F. Halve avocados; scoop out flesh and chop. Crush potato chips lightly, if using.
- Place beans in microwave-safe bowl; microwave on HIGH 1–2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until hot. Spread 2 tablespoons beans and 1 tablespoon mayonnaise inside each bun. Add hot dogs; top with salsa, avocado, and chips, if using. Serve.
