Ingredients
- 1 lemon, for wedges
- 3 cups water
- 2 tablespoons seafood seasoning
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 4 snow crab clusters (2–3 lb)
- Melted butter (optional for serving)
Steps
- Quarter lemon. Combine water, lemon wedges, seasoning, and pepper in large stockpot. Place steam ring or steamer basket in pot. Cover and bring to a boil on high.
- Add crab clusters to pot (wash hands); steam 4–5 minutes until meat is 145°F. Serve with melted butter, if using.
Other Preparation Methods
- Boil: Place 1 teaspoon kosher salt and 4 snow crab clusters (2–3 lb) in 6 quarts boiling water (wash hands); boil 3–4 minutes until meat is 145°F. Drain and serve with melted butter.
- Grill: Wrap 4 snow crab clusters (2–3 lb) and 1 tablespoon unsalted butter in foil (wash hands); grill over indirect heat 5–7 minutes until meat is 145°F.
