Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 large fresh ripe (or frozen) peaches (about 5 cups)
  • Cooking spray
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  • Ice cream (optional)

Steps

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Cut butter into small pieces; place in medium bowl to soften slightly. Peel peaches (is desired), then halve, remove pit, and coarsely chop.
    2. Coat 2-quart baking dish with spray; spread peaches evenly in dish. Add remaining ingredients to butter; combine with fingertips until blended and crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over peaches.
    3. Bake 35–40 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping has browned. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
    Note: If cooking with frozen peaches, bake and additional 5 minutes.
