Ingredients

  • 2 oz passion fruit (or tropical blend) juice
  • 1 ½ oz light rum
  • 1 ½ oz dark rum
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • ½ oz maraschino cherry juice
  • Orange slice (optional for garnish)
  • Maraschino cherry (optional for garnish)

Steps

    1. Fill cocktail shaker with ice; add all ingredients (except garnishes).
    2. Shake well; strain into an ice-filled hurricane glass.
    3. Garnish with orange slice and cherry, if desired.

Other Preparation Methods

    Prepare a Tropical Storm.
    Fill cocktail shaker with ice; add ¼ oz light rum, ¼ oz gin, ¼ oz vodka, ¼ oz tequila, ¼ oz blue curaçao liqueur, 1 dash cherry brandy, 3 oz sweet and sour mix, and 3 oz orange juice. Shake well; strain into an ice-filled hurricane glass.

    Make it for a crowd.
    Make 10 servings by filling a large pitcher or punch bowl with ice; add 20 oz passion fruit juice, 15 oz light rum, 15 oz dark rum, 10 oz orange juice, 5 tablespoons lime juice, 10 tablespoons simple syrup, and ¾–1 cup maraschino cherry juice; stir well.

    Food pairing:
    Serve with Queso Blanco Dip and lots of tortilla chips.
