Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup vanilla ice cream
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 16 oz apple cider
  • 8 oz golden rum
  • Cinnamon sticks (optional for garnish)

Steps

    1. Set butter and ice cream out to soften.
    2. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl until blended and fluffy, then beat in ice cream and ground cinnamon until blended. Divide base among mugs.
    3. Bring cider to a boil in small saucepan. Add cider and rum to mugs; stir well. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired.

    The base can be made ahead of time. Combine base ingredients as directed, then place in airtight container and chill until ready to serve.

    Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg before serving.
