Ingredients
- 4 oz Brie cheese
- 1 loaf Bakery French (or five-grain) bread
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ cup fig preserves
- 12 oz sliced cooked ham
- ½ cup baby arugula
Steps
- Remove rind from Brie; cut cheese into ¼-inch-thick slices. Slice bread in half lengthwise, leaving ½ inch intact. Coat cut sides of bread with oil, then season with salt and pepper; toast if desired.
- Spread jam inside bread, then layer ham, Brie, and arugula on bottom half of bread. Fold bread closed and cut into 4 equal sandwiches. Serve.
Other Preparation Methods
- Crostini: Spread garlic-herb butter on top and bottom of French bread slices, then top each with sliced mozzarella and pepperoni. Bake at 400°F until lightly browned and crispy.
