Ingredients

  • 1 (11 oz) bag soft caramels
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooking spray
  • 6 small apples
  • 6 (6-inch) bamboo skewers (or popsicle sticks)
  • Toppings (optional)

Steps

    1. Place caramels and milk in microwave-safe bowl; microwave on HIGH 2–3 minutes, stirring halfway through cook time, until completely melted. Let cool briefly.
    2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper; coat parchment with spray. Remove stems from apples, pierce apples with skewers, and dip into caramel until evenly coated. Press toppings into caramel, if using. Place caramel apples on baking sheet and chill 1 hour before serving.
    Chef's Tip: Popular caramel apple toppings include chopped nuts, chopped granola, chocolate chips, sprinkles, and dried fruit.
