Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 200°F. Line baking sheet with silicone mat. Place all ingredients in food processor bowl and process until smooth.
- Spread blackberry mixture in thin, even layer (15 x 10 inches) on mat. Bake 2–2 ½ hours until mixture is no longer tacky to the touch. Cool completely on pan before removing from mat and cutting into strips. Store in airtight container.
Other Preparation Methods
- Chutney: Combine 2 cups blackberries, 1 chopped shallot, and 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard in large saucepan. Simmer and stir 15–18 minutes until berries have broken down. Stir in ⅔ cup sherry vinegar and 2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning; simmer 10 more minutes until thickened.
- Jam: Combine 3 cups blackberries, ½ cup sugar, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, and 1 tablespoon lime juice in large saucepan. Let stand 30 minutes. Simmer and stir 18–20 minutes until sauce is thick and berries have broken down. Chill.
