Ingredients

  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 lb lean ground beef, 7% fat
  • 4 oz sliced fresh baby portabella mushrooms
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed beef broth
  • 8 oz sour cream

Steps

    1. Bring water to a boil for pasta. Chop onion finely. Melt butter in large sauté pan on medium-high, then add onions and garlic; cook and stir 1 minute.
    2. Add beef, mushrooms, salt, and pepper to pan(wash hands); cook 5–7 minutes, stirring to crumble meat, until no pink remains and meat is 160°F.
    3. Meanwhile, cook pasta following package instructions.
    4. Add flour to pan; cook and stir 2 minutes. Stir broth slowly into beef mixture, then stir in sour cream. Reduce heat to medium; cook and stir 7–8 minutes to blend flavors. Drain pasta; serve beef mixture over pasta.
