Ingredients
- 1 medium Honeycrisp Apple
- 8 slices Nature's Own Butterbread
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon sugar
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cooked bacon pieces
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup egg substitute
- ½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
- Pam Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
Steps
- Core apple and cut into thin slices, then into matchsticks. Remove crusts from bread; roll out bread until thin. Combine mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, and sugar; whisk to blend. Cut cheese in half.
- Spread about 1 teaspoon mayonnaise sauce on each slice of bread, leaving narrow border around edge. Top each slice with 1 piece cheese, 1 tablespoon bacon pieces, and even amount apples. Roll up tightly to seal.
- Place flour, egg substitute, and bread crumbs in three separate shallow dishes. Dip each roll in flour, coating all sides; tap off excess. Dip into egg, letting excess drip off, then roll in bread crumbs, pressing with fingers to adhere (wash hands). Arrange seam-side down on baking sheet. Freeze 30 minutes or until firm, but not frozen.
- Meanwhile, preheat air fryer to 375°F. Coat roll ups with cooking spray, then arrange ½ inch apart in air fryer basket. Cook 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through cook time, until coating is golden and crisp and cheese is gooey. Serve with remaining mayonnaise sauce on the side.
