Additional info
To Sharpen Knives: 1. Place on edge of counter or table top (Fig.1) 2. Insert knife blade into the coarse slot at a 90 angle to the sharpener. 3. Apply moderate downward pressure on the blade and pull the knife blade through the sharpening slot from heel to tip. 4. Repeat this action until sharp, always pulling the blade down through the sharpening slot (never back and forth). 5. Insert the knife into the fine slot and repeat steps 2-5. If your knife is already sharp, repeat steps 2-5 using the FINE slot only. (Fig. 2) To Sharpen Serrated Knives: 1. Insert the knife into the fine slot and repeat steps 2-5. (Fig. 2) To Sharpen Scissors: 1. Left-handed scissors; hold the handle of the sharpener in your right hand with the words Left-Handed Scissors facing you. Opposite for Right-handed scissors; hold the handle in left hand and with the words Right-Handed Scissors facing you. 2. Open your scissor blades and insert the blades as far as possible through the slots. (Fig. 3) 3. Close scissors firmly on the sharpening rod as if you were trying to cut the rod. Pull the scissor blades through the slots while trying to keep the blades closed. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times (more for dull scissors). If preferred, push scissor blades through the unit instead of pulling. Care and Storage: Always clean your sharpener after use. Clean with a damp cloth or mild brush. Do not rinse with water. Store in kitchen drawer or cabinet.
