A dog should be maintained in a goody body condition and not allowed to become overweight. The food intake required to maintain good body condition with vary depending on age, activity level, environment as well as other factors. Consequently, the food requirement for each dog will vary, and should be adjusted accordingly. Use the standard chart provided as a guide. Pregnant, nursing, hardworking dogs or dogs exposed to cold weather may require 2-3 times these amounts. Recommended Daily Feeding Instructions for Adult Dogs: Using standard 8 oz measuring cup. 3-12 lbs: 1/2 to 1-1/2 cups daily, 13-25 lbs: 1-1/2 to 3 cups. 26-50 lbs: 3 to 4-1/2 cups. 51-100 lbs: 4-1/2 to 6-3/4 cups. 100+ lbs: 6-3/4+ cups. 1/2 cup for each 10 lbs of body weight over 100 lbs.
