Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb ground chuck
- 2 large eggs (or ½ cup egg substitute)
- ½ cup diced fresh onions
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- ½ cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1 cup tomato sauce
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine ground beef, eggs, chopped onion, seasoning, and bread crumbs in medium bowl and mix until well blended; place in loaf pan.
- Bake 35–40 minutes or until beef is 160°F. Remove from oven and top with tomato sauce.
Other Preparation Methods
- Sauté: Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high. Place 1 lb ground beef, 1 tablespoon chopped garlic, and ½ cup chopped onion in pan. Cook 5–7 minutes or until ground beef is 160°F. Stir in 1 cup marinara sauce; cook 2–3 minutes or until hot. Serve over pasta.
- Grill: Form 1 ½ lb ground beef into 4 patties. Season with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Grill 3–5 minutes on each side or until beef is 160ºF.
