The arrival of a baby is a magical time for a mother-to-be. Celebrate an expectant friend’s bliss by hosting a baby shower that brims with useful gifts, tasty treats, baby-theme games and, most importantly, close friends and family.

It’s okay to consult the guest of honor to gather ideas for the shower—some women prefer classic celebrations, while others prefer a nontraditional approach. For example, some mothers wish to have the shower after the birth. And if the mother-to-be doesn’t want to be the center of attention, feel free to ask her husband if he would also like to participate in the festivities—a couples baby shower creates a casual, inviting atmosphere where friends of the expectant parents can mingle and celebrate the upcoming birth. Regardless of what kind of shower you host, let baby-theme games and activities take center stage.
