INSTRUCTOR(S) -
Anne Burrell
DATE & TIME - Nov 4 / 6:30 p.m.
DESCRIPTION - Anne Burrell first worked in a restaurant while attending Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, (where she has since taught in both professional and recreational programs). Graduating in 1991, she worked as a physician headhunter, but found the culinary world called. She did grunt work at local restaurants while attending the Culinary Institute of America and upon graduation studied at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, spending time in Piedmont, Umbria, Tuscany, and Liguria.
In New York, after serving as sous chef at Felidia, she moved to Savoy as chef in the prix fixe dining room. She most recently ran the Centro Vinoteca kitchen, a neighborhood Italian restaurant and wine bar located in NYC’s West Village.
Burrell has battled alongside Mario Batali as his sous chef on Iron Chef America and reveals concise, easy-to-master restaurant techniques for the at-home cook on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef (both on Food Network).
