    Ingredients

    • 2 medium red onions, thinly sliced
    • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 3 teaspoons kosher salt

    Steps

      1. Slice onions. Combine in large bowl: vinegar, water, sugar, and salt; whisk until sugar and salt dissolve.
      2. Place onions in a 32-oz mason jar (with a lid); pour the vinegar mixture over the onions. Let stand at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Chill until ready to serve.
      Note: The onions can be stored for 7–10 days in the refrigerator.
