Ingredients
- 1 (9-inch) frozen prepared piecrust
- Parchment paper
- ¾ cup light corn syrup
- 1 ½ cups packed dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 3 large eggs
- 3 ½ cups pecan pieces
Steps
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Arrange pie shell on parchment-lined baking sheet; set aside.
- Combine in medium saucepot: corn syrup, dark brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract and apple cider vinegar until blended. Bring to boil on medium; cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved.
- Pour mixture into a large stainless-steel bowl, whisk mixture occasionally until cooled to room temperature (CAUTION: bowl will be hot). Whisk in eggs, one at a time, until well blended. Stir in pecan pieces, then pour filling into prepared pie shell. Bake 25–30 minutes or until set.
- Remove from oven and set aside to cool completely before serving.
