Ingredients
- 1 Bakery pizza crust dough
- ¾ lb ground beef
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ cup steak sauce
- 2 medium sweet onions
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ⅓ cup shredded Italian-style six-cheese blend
- ⅓ cup 1000 Island dressing
- 7 thin slices sharp cheddar cheese
Steps
- Remove dough from refrigerator and let stand 1 hour (do not remove from bag until stand time completed).
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place ground beef, seasoned salt, and pepper in pan; brown 5–7 minutes, stirring to crumble meat, until no pink remains and meat is 160°F; remove meat from pan and combine with steak sauce. Meanwhile, slice onions thinly.
- Place butter in same pan, then add onions, caraway seeds, and Worcestershire sauce; cook 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and well browned.
- Flour hands lightly and pat dough evenly into nonstick (or lightly greased) pizza pan. (Or turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and roll to desired thickness.)
- Combine shredded cheese and dressing; spread over crust. Spread meat mixture over cheese mixture, then spread onions over meat. Top with sliced cheese and bake 18–20 minutes until cheese melts. Remove pizza from oven and let stand 5 minutes; slice and serve.
Chef's Tip: Want to save time? Check your Publix Bakery for pre-rolled pizza dough. No rolling required, just place dough in pan. For best results, bake crust 10–12 minutes before topping. Add toppings and bake 7–10 more minutes.
