Ingredients
  • 3 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth (or stock)
  • 4 oz Deli smoked Gouda (or Gruyère) cheese
  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
Steps
  1. Bring broth to a boil in medium saucepan on medium-high. Shred cheese.
  2. Add grits to broth and whisk to combine, then reduce heat to low and cover; simmer and stir 8–10 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. Remove from heat; stir in cheese, salt, and pepper. Serve.
