Publix Recognized as one of IDG's Computerworld Best Places to Work in Information Technology
LAKELAND, Fla., June 30, 2008 — For the fourth consecutive year, Publix has been honored as one of IDG’s Computerworld, the “Voice of IT Management” top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals. This honor is part of the weekly IT publication’s 15th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, published in the June 30 issue of Computerworld and online at www.computerworld.com. Publix moved up to No. 79 from last year’s No. 81 and remains the only supermarket chain to be recognized. In addition, Publix ranks No. 41 for companies with 10,000 or more associates.

The Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals compiled by IDG’s Computerworld. The lists are compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
