Publix Recognized as one of FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies to Work For
LAKELAND, Fla., Jan. 9, 2007 — For the 10th consecutive year, Publix has been honored as one of FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For." Publix was ranked No. 57 on this year's list and was one of only 18 companies to have made the list every year since its inception in 1998. Publix also ranked No. 16 on FORTUNE's Best Large-Sized Company list.
"I'm pleased that Publix associates believe so strongly in our company that we have made the list for 10 straight years," said CEO Charlie Jenkins Jr. "Their dedication, hard work and pride in their company make Publix a great place to work every day."
The ranking was determined by survey responses from randomly selected employees, evaluating trust in management, camaraderie and pride in the company. Each company was also required to complete a questionnaire on its benefits and practices.
The story will appear in the Jan. 22, 2007, issue of FORTUNE. More information about the survey and how companies were ranked can be found at FORTUNE's Web site, www.fortune.com.
